Kansas Housing Resource Corporation
enhances Kansas communities with housing
opportunities using a variety of
strategies and approaches including
support for reconstruction efforts,
increasing homeownership opportunities
through first-time homebuyer and new
construction programs, promoting energy
efficiency improvementsfor
owner-occupied and rental housing and
providing affordable housing through
rent assistance to low-income families

Greensburg Greentown
Greensburg GreenTown is a nonprofit
organization established to provide the
residents of Greensburg, Kansas with the
resources, information and support they
need to rebuild Greensburg as a model
green community following the May 2007

DOE/NREL/BSC/IBACOS Technical
Support
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory
(NREL) and the Department of Energy
(DOE) are providing assistance on
practical and simple approaches to
increase energy efficiency in new homes.
Building Science Corporation (BSC) and
IBACOS–teams from the DOE’s Building
America Research Program–are working
with homeowners and builders in
Greensburg by providing resources,
builder workshops, onsite technical
assistance, and a demonstration house
incentive program. For more information,

Home Energy Ratings and
Performance Evaluations
The US Department of Energy and the
Kansas State Energy Office have provided
funding for home energy ratings and
performance evaluations for Greensburg
and surrounding areas. Brian Wendland is
the local rater and he is now available
to provide free home energy ratings,
review home plans, provide air tightness
testing, and provide design
recommendations. Contact Brian Wendland

are also available to perform free
